Josh Groban: Awake Live

Josh Groban released his third live album, Awake Live last May 6, 2008 which features his August 28, 2007 concert at Salt Lake City’s EnergySolutions Arena in Utah.

I was hoping that he would choose his concert at the Palace of Auburn Hills where I watched the said show last February 2007 since he used to study at the Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan before he made it big. But it didn’t turn out that way. He-he.

Anyway, Josh Groban chose the Utah concert because of its significance; He made his first arena concert in Salt Lake City and he also sang at the closing ceremony of the 2002 Winter Olympics there wherein his performance was viewed by more than 2 billion people worldwide.

I got Josh Groban's brand new CD/DVD Awake Live from Sam’s Club for $19.99 the other day and the moment I played it on my CD player, I was transported back in time, in that cold and fantastic night at the Palace where he wowed the crowd with his showmanship and lulled us into dreamland by his soothing baritone about a year and two months ago.

I already listened and enjoyed the CD while I haven’t watched the DVD yet although I read from the album’s notes that it includes majority of the songs from his Awake album with a smattering of tracks from his 2001 double - platinum self- titled debut album as well as from the multi- platinum Closer.

But the reason I refrain from watching the DVD is because of this---

Yes, Grobanites you better check your local theater listings for the World Wide Theatrical Premiere of AWAKE LIVE on Thursday, May 15 in the United States and relive his sensational Awake performances once again.

I will be driving to Emagine Theater in Canton, MI to do just that.
